Everybody's Energy

The purpose of the project is to create an understanding for how it is possible, through design, to enhance driving forces that lead to an increased commitment to environmental issues through social interplay and collective participation.

This is done for example through creating a public, interactive creation that visualises energy consumption in a larger area and with many users. The aim is to create a permanent installation that becomes a visual symbol for the commitment of KTH Royal School of Technology to environmental issues and creates a social alliance and participation towards a common goal.

The project also involves a theoretical part that will lead to a doctoral thesis for Lic.Phil. Loove Broms.

The aim of the project is to:

  • To create a beter understanding for how it is possible, through design, to enhance driving forces that lead an increased commitment to environmental issues, for example social interplay and collective participation, as well as knowledge of such commitment develops over time.
  • Develop one or several installations with a strong symbolic value that will create a sense of participation and collective responsibility for environmental issues at an individual level. The installation is constructed on campus of KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The project is directed at schools, corporations and residential areas.
  • Document and develop theory and empirical data produced within the project in the form of a doctoral thesis and science articles.
